Our location - just a snapshot away from the South African coastline and notable Camps Bay - makes a day at the coast an easy trip into paradise for guests staying at our 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa. We offer a schedule of complimentary return transfers from the hotel, via Camps Bay, to the V&A Waterfront, the shuttles run at regular intervals between 8am and 9:30pm daily. Whether you decide to begin your day with a delicious breakfast at our Azure Restaurant at the foot of the Atlantic Ocean and magnificent Twelve Apostles Mountain, or make your way directly to the sandy beaches of Camps Bay, we will show you what to do in Camps Bay to ensure you have the perfect day exploring this beautiful seafront.
Your journey to the Bay can start with either a short drive or scenic walk along the waterfront. If choosing the latter, you will have the option to stop at an array of landmarks on your way. Notable spots to look out for include Sandy Cove (also known as Cosy Bay) where you can enjoy an awe-inspiring sunrise over the boulders of the bay, as well as Tidal Beach where the open landscape allows your eye to wander and absorb the magnificent coastline.
Posing a collection of vibrant, seafront bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, your arrival in Camps Bay will offer you an array of food and drink venues. Grab lunch or enjoy a beer or cocktail at Café Caprice or Sunset Café, both of which offer ocean views so that you can enjoy your drink of choice against the backdrop of the Atlantic.

Once refreshed, make your way back down to the sandy alcove of the Bay and immerse yourself in the sunny coastline. Here you can sunbathe, play volleyball or frisbee, or revive yourself from the day’s heat in the cooling ocean waves. If swimming or surfing however, be sure to do so close to a lifeguarded area as the current can be strong.
As the day approaches its end, Camps Bay offers a range of restaurants offering traditional coastal meals and South African cuisine. Favourites include the notable Mantra Café or Codfather Seafood & Sushi where you can indulge in an extravagant spread of fresh seafood and wine. For those craving authentic South African meat dishes, the award-winning Hussar Grill also offers an exceptional evening of indulgent food. Both also offer vegetarian options.

Established by Pieter Toerien, the Theatre on the Bay offers anything from drama to cabaret, and promises a fun night of entertainment for any who attend. There is also a bar and café at the venue so you can quench your thirst after a day in the sun before settling down to immerse yourself in one of their performances.

Finally, as the day draws to a close, those wishing to capture a sunset photograph of the Bay on their journey home must be sure not to miss Bakoven Beach, where the protruding coastline offers a perfect view back to the beach and the surrounding landscape of the Bay.
