County Mayo, Ireland
Originally built in 1865 for the Estate Manager of 800-year-old Ashford Castle, our elegant white-washed Lodge has views to rival the best in the world. Windows frame inspiring vistas out over placid Lough Corrib, one of Ireland’s largest lakes, backed by the rolling, emerald hills of Connemara.
The Lodge offers country house charm, fine dining in Wilde’s Restaurant and an exceptional collection of estate activities. This is one of Ireland’s finest wedding destinations, pairing warm Irish hospitality with a modern appeal.
The hotel will reopen 2nd June. We very much look forward to welcoming our guests back to the Ashford Estate.
Our sister vineyard lies in the lovely Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth), part of the Walker Bay wine region near Hermanus, South Africa’s whale watching capital. We are proud to serve Bouchard Finlayson, acclaimed worldwide for producing the best Pinot Noir in South Africa, as well as exceptional Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs.
Winemakers Alexander Grier and Nathan Valentine (overseen by Cellar Master Jeff Grier) craft a range of wines characterised by a strong reflection of Villiera's unique terroir and the retention of the distinct aromas and flavours of the different varietals. The Griers have been pioneers in the Cap Classique category and their innovative approach has been evident in other categories as well as in their business. The cellar is IPW certified and HACCP accredited and all Villiera wines are vegan friendly.
Savoir makes the extraordinary beds that feature in each bedroom in every one of our hotels. Made from completely natural materials with traditional, handcrafted techniques, Savoir beds are exceptional.
