Wander the colourful streets of Bo-Kaap on a cultural walking tour. Discover some of Bo-Kaap's oldest historical buildings – including the oldest mosque in South Africa - and learn about the culture and traditions of the local people. After your walking tour, you’ll prepare a traditional Malay meal with your host: samosas, chicken curry, roti flatbread and samabal (better known as salsa salad) and a traditional dessert of koesisters (spicy savoury donuts served with cardamon tea). Leave filled with stories of what you have learned and sampled.

Half Day Tour: After a preview of the Amy Foundation’s work, your guide will take you through the informal settlements of the townships, passing the Amy Biehl Memorial site and finishing at an after-school programme, where you can interact with the children and their teachers. Price: R400 per person (excluding lunch).

Full Day Tour: Expand your tour to see the Amy Foundation’s programmes in action at multiple schools, volunteer with their greening initiative, and see more township life on an expanded tour. Price: R600 per person (excluding lunch).

Lunch at Amy's Bistro: Enjoy a three-course meal at Amy’s Bistro that is fully staffed by their Youth Skills Development learners. Only available for eight or more people. Water and fruit juice included, soft drinks and wine excluded. Price: R350 per person (lunch only).
